6 women. 4 days. Florida. An unforgettable and lit girls’ trip!
This trip was one of the best girls trips that I have ever been on! It was planned by one of my friends who wanted to celebrate her birthday in Clearwater, Florida which is a suburb of Tampa. I was invited by her and my twin sister since she was friends with her already and they had worked together in the past. Sometimes as a traveler, you have to take a chance on people, destinations, and experiences. I am so glad I agreed to go. I had a great time and all of the women that accompanied me were AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, and LIT! We all never traveled together as one group before, but you couldn’t even tell. It was nothing but good vibes and memories to last us a lifetime.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL, MEET AND GREET, HAVE FUN!
Me, my sister, and two of the girls flew to Clearwater so we got there around 5 that afternoon. The birthday girl and one of the other girls were already there so they picked us up from the airport and we arrived at our Airbnb. It was a beautiful apartment with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so it was plenty of room for all of us. After we got to know each other and talked a little bit, we headed to Wal Mart to get a few things for the house and then went to the strip and got some dinner from Frenchy’s Cafe. All of us ordered grouper sandwiches (some original, some grilled). We had got our food to go because we wanted to make sure that we all got ready in time for our first night out! After we ate, we got ready, took pictures, and arranged our Lyft driver to come pick us up. We went out to Club Prana in downtown Tampa. The club itself had 5 levels with different music playing on each floor. We purchased our tickets online beforehand so we got in pretty quickly! That club was AMAZING. The music was good, it was packed, and all of us just danced the night away and had a great time. It was a great beginning to what else the trip had in store for us.
DAY 2: POLE DANCE CLASS, BEACH, HABIBI CAFE AND HOOKAH BAR
After our fun night out, the birthday girl planned for us to do a pole dance class that afternoon! Good thing we got to sleep in! The studio was located at this strip mall in Tampa (no pun intended). Our teacher was AMAZING. She taught us different techniques and we all took turns and had fun with it. We even recorded ourselves on video which was really fun. It was such an empowering experience for all of us and it really broke the ice. After our pole dance class, we changed into our bathing suits and went to hit the beach! While there, we took pictures, laughed, talked, and had a great girls day! After that, we headed back to our Airbnb to relax and to prepare for the night. (I used this time to get a little catnap in lol). To prepare for the night, we went to get some food and drinks and then we brought in the birthday girl’s birthday at the Airbnb before our Lyft came to pick us up to go to Habibi Cafe and Hookah Bar. That was another nice little spot in downtown Tampa and they even stayed open an hour later for us since we were buying hookah and drinks :))) Our night consisted of us doing hookah, drinking drinks, hyping other people up in the bar, dancing with people on the sidewalk, just having a great time. We really made sure everyone there, including us, had a night to remember!
DAY 3: NIQUA’S BIRTHDAY!!
The birthday girl turned 25 on the third and last full day of our trip and we had a BIG day planned! We started the day off by having breakfast at Nicki’s Omelette and Grill! The service was excellent and the food was beyond what I expected! Then, we went to the Clearwater Marina and was able to do jet skis that afternoon! Four out of the six of us (including myself) wanted to drive the jet ski so we had to read a set of safety and operation rules and then take a test afterward. We all passed and got our jet ski licenses that can be renewed every year. The other two girls wanted to ride, but just not operate it so they didn’t have to take the test. Riding jet skis with my girls was the most liberating experience. I had been wanting to drive a jet ski ever since last year and I was so happy that I had the chance to do it on this trip! After the jet skis, we got home and started to get ready for dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. We were all not very pleased with the service that we received but we really wanted to make sure the birthday girl still had a night to remember! Earlier that day, we arranged to pick up her birthday cake and card and decorate the house for her lingerie party! It was a success!! We ended the night by taking pictures, drinking, having girl talk, dancing, listening to music, and all of us falling asleep in our rooms or in the living room. Another lit night in the books!
DAY 4: LUNCH, ONE LAST BEACH VISIT, BANANA BOAT, HOME
Our trip came to an end :( It went by so fast and we all really enjoyed ourselves! We all vowed that we would take another trip soon. The birthday girl’s flight was early that afternoon and one of the other girls drove from Georgia so they left before me, my sister, and the two other girls. The four of us that were left decided to just soak in what was left of Clearwater since our flight didn’t leave until 7 pm. We had lunch at Palm Pavilion which was a restaurant right on the beach. It was so relaxing and the food was really good. After that, we decided to go on the beach one last time so we changed into our bathing suits and relaxed for a while. Then we decided to do the banana boat! Before we got on the banana boat, we had to put on life jackets and helmets for safety, then we proceeded to the water to get on it. That was an experience all on its own! There is a person riding a jet ski while the banana boat is being pulled by it so it really feels like you are on a ride at an amusement park! We kept screaming and laughing and the water kept splashing in our faces but it was worth it; we had a great time doing that! Before we knew it, it was time to get changed, take the rental car back to the airport, and board our flight. We made it back to Charlotte, NC safe and sound and said our see - you - laters. I headed back to Durham, NC that night since I had to work the next morning.
This post does not do the trip justice. My snapchats and IG posts don’t either. The experience itself and the memories that I made with those women are priceless. As women (and men who are reading this), we all deserve a break! Nothing wrong with working hard and reaping the results from it! Life is too short and we all need to be around like-minded people who are all about living life, having fun, and enjoying the company they are around. These women were the best, and I cannot wait for our next trip together :)
Until next time,
Live life, love always, and don’t forget to smile,
